Outgoing NMMA President Coon Rapids Mayor Jerry Koch was recognized at the May board meeting by the current president, Circle Pines Mayor Dave Bartholomay, for four years of leadership and a lifetime of impactful service.
Completion of Highway 610
The final stretch of highway 610 broke ground this summer in Maple Grove with dignitaries including U.S. Senator Tina Smith. The North Metro Mayors Association was born in 1987 out of a need for cities to work together on highway 610 and other regional issues.

North Metro Mayors Minute for June 2021 Operating Committee Meeting
The North Metro Mayors Association Operating Committee met in Circle Pines this week. City Administrator Patrick Antonen welcomed the group, attending in person and via Zoom. Circle Pines is reviewing a contract for administrative services from the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View fire department. SBM will act as the fire chief for Circle Pines. They're hiring two full-time Circle Pines firefighters as well. Patrick thinks this approach may become a model for neighboring communities.
